Oh indeed.
There were a lot of fuckers around that scene / band too.
No bands/scenes are full of ONLY great people sadly.
As I say though with a song being construed in such a way you’d give it a wide berth in terms of covering it. But Slayer did cover it. And they have nazi-ish iconography and are apparently into nazi stuff. Dangerous/iffy combination surely.

There’s a massive strain of conservatism that runs through hardcore (particularly US hardcore) despite how enlightened a lot of hardcore fans like to assert their scene is - definitely not just Slayer / metal fans.

That said, think we can all agree that that song was a very bad idea to begin with and covering it even more so. Slayer have made a fair few fairly terrible decisions throughout their career, it’s fair to say. Personally I don’t think that this is the be all and end all, but can understand if people do

They’ve written songs about the horrors of the nazi regime, not celebrating it, if people can’t distinguish between that then I don’t know what to tell them. It’s like GTA games being morally wrong because you can’t distinguish the difference between fiction and reality
