TOP TIER
Would listen to sober

FINE TIER
Would watch at a festival while moderately drunk and would know the words to at least 2 of their songs enough to kind of sing along

FUNNY TIER
Would pull up as an example of how stupid it was to be a teenager in the late 90s / early 2000s.

BAD TIER
Would probably chuckle if they came on in a bad rock club.

ERASE TIER
I mean…sometimes bad is just bad isn’t it.

All of these bands suffer from shiny production imho, especially on the vocals, just sanitises the whole thing
It’s pretty obvious people intend to sound like that with all the compression and that really well worn american throatiness but it puts me off so much, cheesy af

Can’t believe I never clicked that this classic picture is Max Weinburg and his actual son, that he’s their drummer these days, and drummed for the E Street Band when he was only 18 (first time I saw them on the working on a dream tour in 2009)

Thing is, Duality is such an ATD banger which gives me the goosebumps but nothing else of theirs really does much for me. Impressive that they have managed such a mainstream crossover and retained relevance in the year of our dogshite, 2020. Fair play to them for coming across as good chaps too.
