I can understand this really.
Not doubting you at all but really didn’t know that was a thing!
I thought people regarded them as cheesy. I was only able to get into them when I stopped really caring what people thought about my music taste (which was in the last five years, coincidentally or not when I joined these boards )

Brilliant songs about sleazy bastards, perfectly played and arranged and produced. It’s a 5, but fuck the snobbery, it’s either your lane or it isn’t and let’s be fair there’s plenty to dislike if sheen, snark and jazz don’t float your boat.
Also watching my wife destroy the dance floor with her dad to reelin’ in the years at our wedding was one of the high points of my life. They’ve soundtracked a lot for us over the years and those records are so easy to reach for in so many circumstances.
