Dunno. Maybe all songs should be structured like a letter so this is more clear?

this is what I like about a lot of Mark Kozelek’s lyrics, he tells you what is going on in the song

Quickly becoming the new Smashing Pumpkins.

kind of the reverse because he wound up having a lot of interesting stuff to say in the latter half of his career and the pumpkins had nothing to say beyond like 1997 or whenever Adore came out

To whom it may concern,

I believe in miracles, where you from? You sexy thing.

Not what I meant.

I mean you mock but the verse might have gone “I met him in a club he was dead sexy…” or something, lots of songs have setups for the chorus

So you don’t actually know what the song is about, you just felt like criticising it’s content. Sounds about right.

so basically their weighted score for any particular film is made up of both the actual average score for the film as voted and the average score for all films on the site. as a film gets more votes, the % of its score which is from the average across all films decreases, and it gets closer and closer to just being the actual average as voted. cool, huh?

wait a minute is this an entirely different song by somebody else?

Dear Bam, I wrote you but still ain’t calling
I expressed no opinions, good or appalling
Currently writing lyrics to a parody song
Describing what I’m doing, no right or wrong
Nothing to Kozelek or loathe
Just the middle of the road

Sugababes are very good aren’t they

according to google the chorus is this

“'Cause I will be a freak until the day
Until the dawn
And we can all through the night
To the early morn
Come on and we’ll take you around the hood
On a gangster lift
'Cause we can any time of day
It’s all good for me”

so it must be a different song

Listening to their greatest hits and already having a better time than I have with most wet flannel’ proper ’ musicians

Call a good song ‘a powerhouse’, probably too often

yeah that’s silly. A song can’t be a powerhouse

i swear to god, the voice is an instrument and Sugababes harmonies are up there with the best, they deserve just as much respect as shit noodlers like, for example, the Smashing Pumpkins or Kozelek.

The rat, for example, is an absolute fucking powerhouse. I just overuse it

Do either of those bands get respect anymore? They’ve both become memes on account of the front men being complete and utter belms releasing bad music on a frequent (very frequent in the case of Mark) basis.
