McCartney wrote that when he was 15 years old! I mean say what you like about it but it’s a pretty incredible piece of popular music for a 15 year old to have composed.

I like it!

Gone with a 3. Obviously a bloody good band, but as said above, a poor man’s Kinks.

Would take all of Revolver and Abbey Road and pick and choose from the rest. Paperback Writer is one of the greatest singles ever made. Sgt Pepper’s is probably the most overrated album in existence.

FIN.

Can’t in good conscience vote for the song that starts “Well, she was just seventeen, you know what I mean” however much of a tune it is

That initial run of pop songs before they went “experimental” are so trite. I actively dislike most of them frankly.

Oh I was using the general “you” there! It’s unrestrained McCartney schmaltz but it’s a great tune.

Also, they wrote and released a song complaining about paying tax. If Eddy Sheran did that, you’d all be dragging him for it.

Going for a 3 I think.

McCartney was only 20 when he wrote it, but I get your point.

Does anyone, anywhere, ever genuinely put “She Loves You” on for their personal enjoyment and think “yes, this is the song that I’m pleased to be listening to at this moment in time”?

A friend, on learning I didn’t really care for the beatles, bought me a copy of Revolver and told me it would change my mind.

Yeah, righto.

Not my favourite album but Hard Day’s Night is the best I’d say

I’m very pleased that you get to do and experience that, Funkman (genuinely) but it does blow my mind a bit.
