Going between a 3 and a 4 from me. They have a few truly great singles, and I like most of what I’ve heard, but I’ve just never had the impulse to listen further. I’ve never heard a whole Cure album, and I really don’t think I’ll ever feel the need to. 3 I think.

Love them. Robert Smith is a national treasure. Still great live too

Have you ever voted a 2, 3 or 4 for any of these?

I gave Bowie a 3 and Britney a 4

Know, and like, the big albums, but, like funkyman, I’ve never explored past those or a greatest hits comp. Probably quite happy not to as well tbh.

I like how they’ve taken it upon themselves to nurture the twilight sad but asides from that I’ve never really taken to them - gothy version of squeeze really aren’t they?

Do you know what, maybe I will. What shall I go in with?

it’s good but holy shit teenage me plugged straight into the raw nihilistic emotional destruction of putting Kiss Me… on for the first time

Kiss me kiss me kiss me
Your tongue like poison
So swollen it fills up my mouth
Love me love me love me
You nail me to the floor
And push my guts all inside out

Get it out
Get it out
Get it out
Get your fucking voice out of my head

I never wanted this
I never wanted any of this
I wish you were dead
I wish you were dead

Eh, they’re fine I guess. Their music’s never really stood out to me but I’ve never wanted to skip past a song if it comes up on a playlist either. The epitome of 3/5

that’s hard to say

My entry point was Head on The Door, it’s pretty accessible as Cure albums go. Maybe start there. Others will have their suggestions

Would recommend the Cure in Orange concert film too

When I was a teenager at the skatepark I told my friends that I thought the cure were better than the smiths and they scoffed but who had the last laugh? As usual, Its me who had the last laugh.
