Nah

Couldn’t smash that 1 fast enough.

Fantastic, at last, a proper band with proper hair cuts.
Only joking. Massively over rated and the “godfather of Britpop” can fuck off.
But had about 3 amazing songs.

I know someone who in the year 2020, has a Paul Weller haircut and isn’t Paul Weller.

Do you?

  • Proper haircut (Y)
  • No haircut (N)

Imagine finding Interpol more exciting than DC, honestly.

Love the Best Of I own, but never felt the need to explore further.

Can’t believe so many people dislike this incredibly popular musical act. Gammons.

I’m going to give them a 4. One point is because they effectively inspired the original strip Pat Mills wrote that started the epic in 2000AD that was Nemesis the Warlock:

When I read this I didn’t know the band existed nor the song (nor have any real interest in knowing who did what song etc.) so I read that as “The Jam’s Going Underground” as the full name of a song, because at the start here you can see a huge number of cars going underground, which appeared to be some sort of traffic jam. I’m not sure if that was also how Pat Mills was thinking, but in his case of course it would have been a knowing pun if so.

I get that Weller is Weller and all that but The Jam were a fucking brilliant singles band and a couple of their albums still stand up too. Yeah they’ve become a bit known for the ‘proper haircut’ brigade liking them but they’re a lot better than that suggests. Down In The Tube Station
, Town Called Malice and That’s Entertainment are worth a 4 by themselves.

Quite like them really.
