I Gotta Feeling is obviously shite, but quite a few of Black Eyed Peas earlier singles aren’t bad at all and would be idolised as “just good pop” if they’d been released by a cooler act.

can’t understand how hotel california is turgid, it has a pretty solid groove, interesting vocal melody, quite a novel concept for a song, good guitar solos, nice production

Their first 2 records are solid hip hop fare and they have a couple of good singles beyond tha but most if their music is really bad. Combination of awful production cringey lyrics and weak vocals.
