Can’t believe they removed ‘kill the president’ from the 1st lp and seem to have nuked its very existence (from my brief internetting at least). Should have rerecorded it for the trump years. Guess they aren’t that punk after all.
I meant that I liked South Park as a teen and still do now, sometimes, but like the Offspring, Sum 41, Blink-182 and most of them lot it can toe a fine line between lovably crude, loud, offbeat humour and unpleasant, bullying undertones. It’s not a life sentence offence but I’m just trying to look at their place in 2021 rather than go on a naive total nostalgia trip.
Smash is getting a heavily nostalgic, not-going-to-listen-to-it-again-any-time-soon 5 from 1994’s Yvash.
Today’s Yvash knows The Offspring are, on the whole, a weak 2.
I’d be very surprised if at least Holland and Noodles aren’t MAGA chuds
I think there’s a thread in this. something like “your shit teenage bands and the shit song you played”
That reminds me of this similar but slightly different thread
That’s a different band. I’ve been in a lot of shit bands it seems
utter pish - 1
Had a brief look at Noodles’ twitter page (why?) and he seems to be a one of those Democrats who’s really, REALLY into the Obamas.
He also responded to a complaint made by a female member of one of his mates’ tour crews about language that she found offensive and derogatory by crying about free speech, calling her a “fat fucking cunt” and suggesting that she “blow him”. Puts him more in the chud camp for me (this was in 2017)
Yeah no denying he’s a prick. Anyone who finds themselves on the same side of any argument as that bellend from EoDM needs to be asking themselves some serious questions.
They’ve always been dicks. Real pioneers of the ‘millionaires moaning about political correctness gone mad’ shtick too
or inadvertently created some MAGA chuds along the way
a 2 but only because you have to reserve 1/5 for truly terrible stuff
they’re absolutely the band who gets called punk just for being fast.
actually just remembered some Offspring stuff in my head and it is pretty terrible
They came on once at Reading and I was with friends that liked them. I thought “they will at least be energetic”.
They weren’t. They can’t even make a good job of leaping around to their stuff a bit, or indeed looking remotely engaged with it.
I do not appreciate the implication that the only Weezer song that exists post-2001 is shit here buddy
