have never been interested in their albums but they have some great singles. gave them a 3. also andrew loog oldham was brilliant.

Think Iā€™ve got to a point where I have less tolerance for ā€˜classic rockā€™ than any other genre but feels like this is very much on me - itā€™s just boredom with the canonisation. Realistically they have some catchy songs that I think youā€™d be doing well not to be utterly bored of and lots that are probably great if you are into that stuff.

Really itā€™s a 1 but being honest I think they probably do what they do better than just about anyone else donā€™t they? So can understand if it is a 5 for some people.

Grudging 2 I think.

Oh that includes an extra half point for Wild Horses 'cause I like Gram but Burrito Brothers version is better anyway.

Iā€™ve not listened to a lot because thereā€™s so much andā€¦I donā€™t like them.

Satanic majesties and between the buttons are better than all the others cause theyā€™re weird but everyone else did that better than them so whatā€™s the point.

Then those early albums with all the covers arenā€™t worth listening to either cause everyone else did that better too.

A lot of the canon is music I grew up with via my Dad. I understand what you mean though - the canon bands he wasnā€™t fussed with (the Who, for example) do nothing for me, so I appreciate there is probably an element of nostalgia clouding my view.

I expect that the Stones got in at the right time - if I listened for the first time now they would probably do nothing for me. I feel the same about the majority of guitar music these days though.
