Only know them from the harder they come soundtrack. Obv love pressure drop, but havent really heard enough.

But one of them has probably done something bad at some point and they’ve willingly embraced the capitalist system, so it has to be a 2/5 im afraid.

What’s the verdict?

Literally never heard of them. Maybe I’ve heard their stuff though. Off to Spotify!

You’ll know at least 1 or 2 I reckon.

Feel like you’ve made this band up

Really not familiar enough with their stuff, although got into the obvious couple of songs thanks to this is england

I unexpectedly caught Toots Hibbert live last year. He was very good. I’ve subsequently been investigating the Maytals, and thoroughly enjoying it - 4/5

Already stumbling block number one is which version of Funky Kingston do I start with?!

US version is first on the list in Spotify so that’s where I am.

4/5 from me. The first band to use the word ‘reggay/reggae’ and for me the best. I forget who it was in the Bob Marley thread that was saying that they found reggae really good for depression and that’s true with Toots for me. Find it really lightens my mood and quite soothing when I’m low. Amazing fun live too.

I have to say @anon19035908 has really pulled all the stops out to support this conspiracy!

Anyone can upload to spotify nowadays. Just type Fortnite into spotify search and enjoy

patiently working through 34 acts we’ve heard of while recording 40 reggae albums on his laptop and uploading them to Spotify just to drop the biggest GOTCHA ever on us all is why we love @anon19035908 so hard, TBF.

Stole my comment! Tho I remember them from the reggae section at HMV.

Only know Pressure Drop. Can’t fault it though. 5/5.

Only know of them because a local climbing centre used to play Monkey Man all the time.

Doesn’t seem enough to rate them on, so I won’t.

But it would be 1/5 if I did.

Reckon you were spot on with your statement about lack of votes on this one.

Like many, I reckon, I’m probably a lot more familiar with their “hits” than is instantly obvious. I mean, I do not recognise the names of any of the tracks listed above, but I’ve had a long appreciation for reggae, without really knowing what I’m listening to half the time.

So, I’m going to abstain from voting until I’ve educated myself a bit more.

Yeah quite tempted to launch another one alongside this at lunchtime.
