Let’s pretend that I’m a complete moron that has never heard of the leaf technique before, please explain.

I had an old lady ask me how to cut up a pineapple once, I was a bit taken aback.

just grab it and throw it in. maybe a cursory check to make sure it’s not rotten.

Haha!! If you pull at a leaf, generally the top, most central ones, and it comes away easily then it’s good!

This is exactly what I wanted from this thread :+1:

It’s like the note technique

He’s mugging himself off. They’re clearly easy peelers. We have satsumas in bags, but not loose.

I keep all my secrets to myself so that they shit bastards come and clear out the dross leaving me with the sweetest flat peaches.

This doesn’t always mean I’ll immediately cut it open tho. Use your pineapple senses JI!

Thank fuck I don’t work there anymore eh

The most mysterious of the loose products is the onion. Nothing can really tell you what lies within. Lucky they are cheap.

nvm

I am the one who chooses the avos cause I have a good method. Quick squeeze AT THE ENDS
We’re ripe and ready!
Or
We need to be left on the windowsil for a few days!

Nanas - always in abundance in my house as I go through about 10 a week I reckon then any leftover at the end go nice and brown for a banana bread. I buy them green tho.

Melons - I only buy watermelons these days. Then I eat one watermelon over 2 days then I have to go buy another watermelon. Getting through 3 watermelons a week atm! Don’t squeeze them, just go for it.

Other melons tho - get out of town. Had one recently that was far too ripe and it tasted boozy! …

Theres a green grocers near me that keeps the avos behind the counter. NO SQUEEZING

Will employ the witches and meo methods in future.

Yeah, couldn’t manage you

I think you’re meant to pick off the little nub at the top and look in there.

If its white, shit ain’t ripe
if its brown, take it down (to the till)

I can imagine what it’s like, worked with loads of really dour managers who despised their jobs while I was there.
