I like it but I don’t love it. Not something you can listen to in one sitting, so I tend to just go back to a few favourites (mostly on Disc 1 - Absolutely Cuckoo, Chicken With Its Head Cut Off, Luckiest Guy on the Lower East Side, I Don’t Want To Get Over You, The One You Really Love), except I’ll nearly always sack it off in favour of listening to The House of Tomorrow for the thousandth time. Or Strange Powers.

The Death of Ferdinand de Saussure was very cathartic to listen to during my degree, Yeah! Oh Yeah! is brilliant. Never got the love for The Book of Love.

Nice.

This will be my only contribution to the thread

We don’t have to be stars exploding in the night or electric eels under the covers
We don’t have to be anything quite so unreal…let’s just be lovers

Admire the ambition and some of it’s very good, but I don’t love it as a whole really. Maybe a 6(.9)

10/10, one of my favourite ever albums.

The 60th best song on the album would have the potential to be my favourite by most other bands, that’s how good it is.

Amazing achievement. 10/10

Seriously considering giving my first 10 here. Sure, I could easily trim 20 tracks but that still leaves nearly 50

A lot of nonsense mixed in with some of the best songs ever written. The whole thing is brilliantly absurd.

10/10 - a towering achievement and completely timeless.

First heard about it when Stephen played on Jools Holland. Only did 1 song, barely 2 mins long but I went and bought it the next day as a result.

Did anyone go to the gigs at the Lyric when they played a disc each night? How I envy thee, if so.

Voted 8/10 because its worth that but hoping it ends up 6.9/10.

This album was a bit of a holy grail for me for a while, loved All My Little Words on a free CD with a magazine (Select I think). Took a few years to find the a reasonable price, only ever saw it at £30 until eventually Fopp had it for £5. Glad I got it at such a better price but wonder if I’d love it more if I’d had it the extra few formative years.

I prefer 50 Song Memoir as far as their gimmick albums go but agree this is the right one to poll if only doing one per artist.
