Inspired by this thread Iā€™ve been rinsing this after years having not heard it. Forgotten how great it is. A real zeitgeist album, which has banger after banger.

Surprised it rated so low on here though. Guess youā€™re all too busy listening to your Nina Simone albums.

Much like Definitely Maybe, an album for the contemporary youth mainly. Reckon this is objectively better and not sure if, unlike DM, it will continue to impress new kids. But it means it doesnā€™t get as much love from those of us too old for it at the time.

I loved this set. Effortlessly cool. Still listen to it often and its aged a lot better than other great albums of that era. Saw them at All Points East in 2019 and they only played songs from the first 3 albums. Bloody marvellous

Itā€™s the first Strokes song I heard and it stopped me in my tracks. Very few songs have done that in my life. It sounded totally alien at the time, I was sold straight after the ā€˜pauseā€™ in the song. Was 17 at the time and my jeans did suddenly become skinnier!
