At least () has untitled 8 which is fantastic. I saw Sigur Ros on the Ágætis byrjun album and they were amazing for the first 10 minutes and then the sounded exactly the same for the next lifetime or however long that set lasted for.

@Scagden Your ma is the musical version of paint drying!

I’m sure she is lovely and I mean no disrespect

Seen Sigur Ros live twice in 2000 and 2001. They were fine. Never really got much out of them beyond that though.

I saw them headline the Electric Picnic festival around '07 and I’m sure it was my Slightly inebriated state but they were amazing. Never need to see them again though

Start of the rot. Lazer Guided Melodies was their pinnacle (even with the abhorrent spelling). I Think I’m In Love and Cop Shoot Cop are both amazing though. A lot of it is bed wetting symphonic gospel nonsense. And I object to having had to ruin my blister packet to get the damn cd out.

Is it sacrilege to say that I Think I’m in Love is repetitive and drags on far too long?

You say it’s repetitive like that’s a bad thing!!!

I remember that one! Was it Select or Q?

TO DISCOGS!

Proper album of two halves for me, with the extended jazzy stuff being good and the more trad stuff just being very uninteresting.

Was very excited to hear this the first time based on the description and how influential it had been on a lot of music I love, but it’s fine innit. Abstain or may dive back in to see if it grabs me.

I can’t remember the last time I listened to this but clearly it was when I was too young to appreciate Broken Heart. Wow

I’m surprised it’s only third in the song poll. The title track is also awesome, admittedly.

I think I’m in Love the minority for preferring the album version of Broken Heart to the Abbey Road EP and live versions. For me, the added timpani, harmonica and choir tips the song into bombastic territory, and it loses its impact as result. The album version, with just Jason singing and those heartbreaking sparse strings in the background, is too affecting for words.

I used to just listen to this album as an ep. Just the chilled out, sad songs and cop shoot cop until the noisey bit.
I was a fool. This is an amazing album and the noisey bit is so much better than when MBV do it.

More surprised the forgettable opening track is so popular TBH

Speaking of the unforgettably beautiful title track:

  • “Original” album lyrics
  • Elvis lyrics remastered
