It’s an 8 for me. Trails off but there’s some absolute choons, especially Venus

I can’t believe you’ve done this.

most of the bands that are meant to sound like Television sound absolutely nothing like Television. Really can’t hear it in The Strokes for example

Second week in a row we have an album I haven’t heard*

*I did see them play it in full at one of those final ATPs so I suppose I have kind of heard it just not the studio version

What were they like? I’ve heard bad reports

Seven. It’s okay. Couldn’t sound more 70s if it tried and that’s a bad thing imo.

Excellent album. Feels a lot like Maggot Brain for me in that you have a really long noodly song and a handful of snappier shorter ones. Also feels like it could be a longer album.

Adventure’s also really good but seems to get overshadowed by MM.

This pretty much sums it up for me too

It was fine. To be honest I find it hard to form a proper opinion on a live performance when I know none of the material

Ought surely?

It’s very good isn’t it. Title track is an all timer. 9

Not necessarily in the vocals, but do you not hear the influence in how the two guitars and melodic basslines all interact and bounce off each other? That’s where the likeness is for me.

Just jizzing out the 10’s here aren’t I.

It’s a ten.

I saw them a couple of years ago, they were decent but they’re quite old so it lacked energy a bit. See No Evil sounded disappointingly sluggish but they picked up as they went on. They changed the order so they finished with the title track, by which point they were sounding better - although they ended after the long instrumental soloing bit and didn’t do the bit where it sounds like it’s over but they casually slip into another verse. Shame.

I kind of preferred the encore of later tracks though as I had no expectations fron those
