that is weird even though I would pronounce it aeroplane I really thought āaeroplaneā was some old turn of the century word the fit both bands aesthetics at the time, but thinking about it of course aeroplane is a word
Rarely used these days due to the US hegemony or whatever but yeah itās still a real word that can be used, hence Aerodromes.
Obviously using it is a particular stylistic choice for a US band. I guess file alongside calling your band Pavement not Sidewalk or indeed Tortoise not Turtle?
Guys Aeroplane is a RHCP song
Good one as well
It always bothered me that British Post rock band Let Airplanes Circle Overhead use the US spelling even though they take their name from the Auden poem āFuneral Bluesā which has the UK spelling.
It also bothers me that no one ever listened to Let Airplanes Circle Overhead. They got lost in the glut of post rock bands in the last decade and totally overlooked despite being way better than most.
but itās a plane that flies in the air
find both mangum and corgan a billion times less embarrassing than yer man from weezer
still quite embarrassing, then
of course
I blame you all
might get this one
Whatās the Americanism* here? Different words for different animals, surely?
*Often Americanisms are older, and itās the UK that changed (from reading the Bill Bryson book about US English).
I have read those books. Any use of English in America that is unique or predominant there is an Americanism surely? It doesnāt matter if it was an old term.
Maybe, Iām not sure tbh. To me, when (British) people use it is often with the assumption that the US version is a ācorruptionā, and therefore newer.
Decided Rocket is the second best song on the album after Hummer
The alternate version of Rocket is great too. Rearranged and kind of MCISified.
possibly the same show, slightly better audio
So how many rolling smashing pumpkins threads do we have now? 3? 4?
4 if you include the ava adore video one
none started by me I should add
