🤼‍♂ How Good of a Wrestler Were They Really? 🤼‍♀ #16 STING 🦂

big fan of the sting / luger tag team where sting is a pure babyface and doesn’t realise that luger is a massive heel who keeps cheating, really fun dynamic

That was a fun angle. It did cement Sting as the most gullible wrestler ever though

Reckon if Sting had went to WWE in the early 2000s and had a feud with Taker etc it would have been amazing.
If Takers mania streak had ended to Crow Sting fair play.
As it was he just kind of drifted it seems.
Like a lot of WCW guys who didn’t come to WWF/E at their peak or during Invasion most people will just be like ‘aye he’s fine’ or as a lot of people thought at the time “just a Warrior wannabe” then later “just a Crow wannabe” or even more damning “anyone can look good in wcw” so it’s a real shame he wasn’t on the biggest stage.

Bit like Scott Steiner for me - liked him ok in his fluorescent 80s / early 90s time but not interested in the later version.

Even at that stage of his career, his look was peerless*.

* until he started wrestling and the facepaint came off/his hair messed itself up.

Just reading up on Stings career ending injury.
Piledrivers are a banned move in wwe?

Yeah with few exceptions (Taker, Kane, HHH)

But you’re unlikely to see any of those 3 crack one out more than once or twice in their lifetime now tbf so it’s now truly banned.

Seth Rollins has a bit of previous, some people think he’s a little unsafe - injuring Sting caused them to very heavily limit powerbombs particularly into the corners, which wasn’t really a terrible thing because they were getting extremely overused.

I think he would have been a weird fit at that time, they were going in a more grounded direction - Taker being a normal guy, Kane unmasking, guys like Lesnar and Angle on top. Dunno how he would have made the character work.
