no practice, they agree the big moments & finish before hand and then make up the rest when they’re in there. those two guys had wrestled each other a lot, all over the world, so they knew each other really well by this point which would make it a bit easier for them

There’d have been a little bit - a few wrestlers back then would put on encounters that still hold up by modern standards, but yes, much less. 80s American wrestling was very power focused and it only really picked up the more fluid form in the mid-90s when Japanese and Mexican wrestlers started to come into the fold.

This one is widely considered the best technical match the WWE put on back in the Hulk Hogan era.

Yeah, you’re right. It’s just a bunch of people hitting each other on the head with baking trays. They hardly spend any time in the ring as well, that must have sucked for the live crowd. I don’t know why I’m analysing this so much, I just can’t believe it’s so bad
