I’ll give the man a 5, his Vines, Twitch presence and books are 5/5… but the show itself is a 4/5… when it misses it really clangs.

No such thing as a 5/5 sketch show. Definitely some of the funniest comedy bits I’ve seen though.
Can’t help but finding him a bit annoying outside the show.

I went to see his vines compilation when he was showing it at the Tramway. I think a fair amount of the laughter was just at the absurdity of being bombarded with these 6-second clips of a guy pretending to wank or shouting at traffic on a big screen through a huge soundsystem in an arts venue.

Fully agree with this. It’s quite frustrating how eager people are to point out how aware they are of a joke that it warns off all potential victims of a lovely bit of trolling.

I’m conflicted on Limmy. Some sketches are absolute genius, some are fairly poor but he sells them with his facial expressions/tics. His twitter is pretty excruciating, i think I’ve unfollowed him twice. Just my opinion though.

Well, with “charity do”, “cancelled” and “sound of the summer”, they’re intentional long runners. It’s the baiting where the comedy comes from bites of naive tweeters … you go to the replies and they’re all gifs of fisherman (haw haw, I get it - he’s hoping for bites and I’m in on the joke) or of Limmy himself from his show doing the “you played right into his hands”.
And every single damn reply in mention to charity do. We get it, you follow him too. The amount of likes on someone bursting thru the door to make the joke is quite disheartening.

Gave it 4/5. First two series of Limny show was mostly great, with a few dodgy sketches here and there but that’s often expected with these type of shows. 3rd series was ok at best, had some very poor sketches imo that dragged on too long. His story books are pretty good. Dee Dee easily best character.
