if anything, we’re just a bit too nice.

I watched the original series from the beginning a few years back, and the quality of the original 30 minute run was really high - every episode had proper laugh out loud moments (albeit with some occasional cringey 80s style racism). Thought the first run of Christmas specials were decent, and then the series they made of the 50 minutes episodes was still good, culminating in The Jolly Boy’s Outing which was great. Got fairly tedious fairly quickly after that however…

Is he? :frowning:

That’s really disappointing. OFAH is a bit shit, but not because of him. I also liked A Touch of Frost. He made a fairly shit Rincewind, but still.

Voted 3 because I can’t remember whether 1 is good or bad.

Was obviously on all the time when I was a kid. Didn’t laugh once, hated it.

She is gorgeous

i knew fellas like del boy growing up and his portrayal in the first few series is very accurate reflection of a certain kind of loveable grifter.

but yeah fuck the late period drama stuff, i don’t need miscarriages and stalker subplots in my cockerney slapstick thanks.

I never watched the X Files, was a bit too young for it, but remember when I was a kid there was a local stir because she met a British dude and moved in with him in a tiny village in east Yorkshire just up the road from my tiny village in east Yorkshire. Couldn’t get my head round that as a kid, why a famous actress would want to live in the Wolds.

I think she looks better now than she ever has

I think OFAH is great. It’s dated in parts and has some pretty iffy parts, but it packs absolutely loads of jokes into each episode. It’s similar to Fawlty Towers, in that it being so ingrained in the national consciousness (particularly that scene) makes you forget quite how funny it is until you watch it.

People mock Del Boy falling over at the bar, but it was pretty funny
