The fiviest five in all of fiveland.

It’s a genuine work of genius and the finale stands up against any of the best films of recent years.

Literally never heard of it and I’ll collect my TV indie points on the way out

It is very very funny

saw a clip from on here once, seemed like a mean gotcha kinda programme.

Is it like Borat for smart people?

haven’t seen the finale, I gave up in season 3 I think as it became too samey for my liking (which is why I’m not giving it a 5) but I’ll do my best to catch up with it as I trust you, Tone.

Absolutely this ^

I’ve never seen it but I seem to recall Crablin going on about it on social media.

I have a feeling it was on Thatcher TV in the UK so that may be why I never caught it.

The difference being that he is vulnerable as a host as opposed to being mean spirited

Consistently very funny, occasionally punches down but when it picks its targets properly its gold. 4/5

docked a point to 4 cos i’m not sure how much of the creepy stuff with women in it is staged/a joke etc. 4/5

The finale is playing with a whole different deck of cards. It’s unlike anything else in the series or on TV generally.

Errol Morris wrote a really good piece for the New Yorker about how great it is

Did you just make this up?

Belongs in the things that don’t exist thread.

Genuinely never heard of it

This thread raising awareness of this wonderful show would be a real testament to the power of our community.

Judging by this thread, the indie points are for those of us who have seen/loved it so…

Nathan means a lot to me it’s so REAL seeing somebody getting through painful interactions and going about the world in a way that doesn’t really fit with everyone else and it’s all shown better than anything I’ve ever seen. and then there’s all the funny, and then there’s all the strange ways that capitalism comes up with stupid ideas that you end up seeing real companies use (the uber chatting with the driver voting thing that they announced last week) and then there’s all that stuff going on in finding Frances with what’s real about everything that I find it hard to get my head around.
