Both are fives.
Office UK is sublime, lightning in a bottle combination of writing and performances, captures the drudgery of office life and the desperation of these characters perfectly, and nails the balance of darkness and sweetness.
Office US is broad, generous, silly, charming. Itās totally different (after sensibly abandoning the original scripts) like it needs to be. Might be the TV series I take to a desert island because thereās lots of it and itās all enjoyable. Quality definitely drops once Michael leaves but the ensemble is so strong it still works (the real failing is Andy - they canāt decide what to do with him and it never works). But even then you still get amazing moments, James Spaderās whole run as Robert California is one of the great comedic performances of all time.
