Been watching it with my gf (first time), having watched it the first time around ten years ago when I was still a teenager, and can only remember a few major deaths and plot points.
A few minor issues and gripes so it’s not perfect but it’s so so so good. Maybe the best, especially when you consider it was the first to do so many things.
Strong in so many ways and could bang on and on about it but will just pick out:
- how strong the ensemble cast of wider characters are (only thing I can think that compares is The Simpsons)
- echo how funny it is
- how good a document it is of Iraq War era America
Also a few stinkers aside I bloody love the soundtrack and how they use music. One of the ways it most feels like a Scorsese film in that regard.
