As I said in the Sopranos thread: when you’re doing a big binge whilst hung over, which is how 90% of milennials absorb media, you listen to the theme in full on the first episode, then skip over it subsequently. Every other option is madness.

I don’t think people like him as a person but I think he’s a fantastic character, in the Wire-y sense that he’s an effective avatar for a particular idea

I just got up to this part but as it’s past my bedtime I will have to save the final for tomorrow.
I’m not completely emotionally invested in anyone apart from Frank. Man’s just trying to support his workers like some sort of robin hood!

I’ve been rewatching The Wire for the first time in about 10 years, and just watched the season 4 finale.
It absolutely broke me. I know that everything that can be said about this show has already been said… but fuck me what a show. I think S04E13 is the greatest episode of television I’ve ever seen. Constantly in awe of this series every time I watch it.
The scene with Bubbles in the ward “I don’t want to feel anything!”… Soul crushing.

I’m quite looking forward to S04, I have known just from people hyping it up online since it came out that it’s good. I’ve just started S03, can’t believe I miss the dock crew after complaining about them so much

S4 was the first I watched, and set a very high bar, as I went back to the start. Still not seen S5. So i think a rewatch with that to cap it off is in order.
