Basshunter played a nightclub in Mullingar recently and one of my mates got off with him
Actually also worked Alex Zane - on two events - and he was really funny and worked really hard. GBOL TBF.
on Top 30 Hits they would just show the artwork spinning round and round (was usually a dance track)
We think most of these programs were great because one band we liked were on there, once. Miming. I suspect if we watched a mid-90s TOTP in its entirety now it would be pretty shit.
Yeah i love 'em. Takes me about 3 weeks to listen to one though. I like everyone involved but any combo of Taylor, Simon, and Neil is always brilliant.
My missus got in the audience for TOTP once back in the 90ās and she lucked out with what appeared to be a solid bill of (at the time) indie big-hitters. Forget who she saw, but I now Garbage were among them.
Think it might have been this one, which isnāt as great as Iād been led to believe:

this is three pictures of the same kid right
I listened to the one from 2000 the other day where Neil completely let rip about the demise of Melody Maker. That man can sure hold a grudge, as he admits himself!
I used to love it when channel 4 used to show a random video at 6.55pm,because whatever they had plus Hollyoaks couldnāt be stretched to an hour without too many ads
I remember seeing Cakeās āthe distanceā once and fucking loving it
This feels more like The Chart Show? I never really recall harsh editing on TOTP. The most annoying thing was when the artist wasnāt in the country and you were like, āYES! FINALLY I GET TO SEE A COOL VIDEO,ā and then theyād have a live satellite link to a special rehearsal from their concert or something. LAME!
Think this was that slot they had called Fresh Pop maybe? Although that was mid to late 90s.they had an interview with the band then the video.
1999 I worked as a temp at Ofsted fresh from Uni and it turned out a woman in her late 30s temping there was the one who made that show. Said it got canned by Andi Peters when he took over that section.
Remember that C4 Jo Whiley show from 99/00?
Thatās the one!
Goddamn andi peters
I remember it, canāt recall the name though, might have been āthe Jo whiley showā. It featured her sitting around with bare feet talking to Billy Bragg, intercut with performances by bands
Like a late review but for middling indie
5/5 for Popworld alone
they got the Hoff for that
Iād really like this to get 20 votes so it can be included in the table
I can vote if you like, even though Iāve literally never heard of itā¦
This is the first (and I think only) edition of the PopJustice magazine. Look whoās on the cover.
Absolutely brilliant
