It’s weird, I’ve never heard it at all and still can’t, even with those songs. The closest the two ever sounded to each other to me was just the two note similarity between “feel it” and “feelin’” in Plush / Evenflow. Always figured the critics were being lazy and just ran with that. Both bands were definitely offspring of classic rock, but STP always felt more jazzy / metal based whereas Pearl Jam felt more bluesy / punk based (both bands obviously have a lot of different music so that doesn’t apply to all of it and is kind of reductive).

Yes, because I used to listen to my on my Ipod/Iphone during commutes and would actually pay attention. Nowadays, at home, I am listening to music while doing other things most of the time.

Took my CDs from my parents place, basically all the stuff I can still stand from the ages of 12-19. Planning to start buying again to get out of Spotify hell!

Silver Jews album prices have shot up since he died, should have bought more of them while he was alive (Drag City have made a point of repressing them all to stop people taking the piss tbf)

Now I don’t have a commute, I don’t listen to as much music. Still making the effort though.

Have also got into the musical Cats, that’s been a weird one

That kind of sucks, i was planning to get the rest of those at some point. Onwards to the repress

£100 for American Water atm. World without peace amen

I remember Drag City saying that they’d keep them available and that DB had always said that’s what he wanted. Can’t imagine SJ would have the fan base to attract paying big money for original pressings. Weird if they are selling at high prices imo.

Just has the warmth you don’t get from spotify

forgot how great FlyLo is

not full on extortionate i don’t think, but the CD in pinky’s collection there i remember spotting on ebay for a couple of quid and considering buying it but not getting round to it. then he died and it shot up to about £20 everywhere for a while. might have come down a bit now. now you can get the CD in HMV and stuff but it’s still about £15 there presumably as it’s an import, though i’ve seen most SJ vinyl back in stock in my local indie for standard enough prices.

New cd prices are so random aren’t they. I’d guess second hand the cds will drop back down to a couple of quid in a while. Bit annoying though.
