160 in the 10 years I’ve been doing gigs, so yeah about 10-12 a year allowing for Covid
However had a couple of real down years in 2014-15, and have picked it back up post lockdown - 22 last year, 10 for this year by the end of the week

On a good year, back when I was younger I’d probably go to around 100-120 a year (excluding festivals).
These days, ‘post-covid’ it’s probably about 30, maybe?

Lol forgot how amateur my numbers look compared to the hardcore gig goers. Don’t have the brainspace or energy to do much more than 2 a month max!

Honestly tho, the stolen valour on this Noo Joisey mook has got me irked. 86 gigs in a year is amatuer numbers. It’s really not uncommon for people to go to gigs at least 5 nights a week every week. In most places there’s at least one guy in your town/city who you see at pretty much every gig.

He also makes sure to have gas in his car beforehand, an outfit picked out, and his tickets on hand.
“Most are digital tickets nowadays but sometimes they are printed, and you DO NOT want to drive an hour just to realize you forgot the ticket at home,” said Joshua.
Additionally, he has a full meal before attending a show, as food at the venues can be pricey.
Joshua has made it a habit to arrive to his concerts early.
“That gives me time to scope out the venue (if it’s my first time there), grab a drink, and get to a good spot for viewing the concert if it’s general admission or to find where my seat is,” he said.
“While I’m there, I make sure to capture at least one full song on my phone using 4K 60 FPS video where I will later upload it to my YouTube channel. These videos serve as something to remember the concert by years later.”

and yeah, 86 seems like fuck all. (Far more than i go to these days but in my ‘prime’ it would have been loads. admittedly it wouldn’t have cost me as much as him due to a lot being diy and cheap! Haven’t got a spare 5k
