I hardly ever watch broadcast TV these days and this thread really brings home what I’m missing from that. Like if I’m idly channel hopping and stumble across uncle buck playing on channel 684 (Lynx Atlantis Classic Movies channel, or some such shit) then I’d have definitely stuck around and watched it.

But if you were scrolling through [streaming service of your choice] would you hit play on this? I feel like there’s some wierd kind of thing where I’d watch vintage movies, but only if somebody else has already put in the work of pressing Play on it somewhere for me.

I know what you mean. I think if I was looking for something to watch and had no preconceived notion of what genre or vibe, I’d probably choose it once in every 20-30 times.
