ah cool - need to check this out

still got the cat issue though :smile_cat:

Got this exact sofa:

http://www.potterybarn.com/products/cameron-slipcovered-roll-arm-sofa-collection/?&

for £70 off Gumtree. Plus delivery. Only just fit in the flat (see previous thread), but somehow it did. Took the covers down the laundrette, all good as new. Amazing value.

We spent a bit more than you are thinking in the summer to get two excellent large g plan sofas. They are so much more comfortable than previous ones that were few hundred off eBay…they need to last a long time. Same as some one said up there got them over 4 yrs 0% finance so is affordable…

Getting them in the house was an issue, may need to take the window out when we move out…

Buy cheap, buy twice.

We got a La-Z-boy recliner from House of Fraser for £995. Or rather on two years interest free credit.

Really comfortable and more importantly a high back which is great for me as I’m tall.

bf has this one and the matching arm chair and its fab

I know I mentioned this flippantly earlier, but if you’re going to buy something that you’re going to keep in one room for a quarter of a century then if the answer to getting it in there is: pay someone to take your windows out and then put them back again, then it’s worth doing.

interested to know how much more durable a Ā£1000 sofa actually is than a Ā£600 one, reckon a lot of the time there’s not much difference.
where’s marckee with his which guides when you need him

not an option I’m afraid

living room is out back

there are double patio doors - but you would need to get the sofa across multiple neighbours gardens - which are all at different levels - with big bushes etc

I’m glad it’s like this as it means my bikes feel nice and safe in their shed - but it does limit sofa options

Well that’s a bonus! Now you get to hire a crane as well!

I’m with you on this, but I don’t think we’re going to convince anyone. I think a lot of the £££s go on ā€œooh aint it purdyā€.

[Also GO MUZZA!]

Got mine from habitat so it cost a fair bit but not mega €€€s

Dream sofa would be this

It is possible to get classic Lay-Z-Boy / Friends-style Barker loungers in this country?

That’s the real dream, fuck this sofa shit.

Yeah I’d rather take the bunce you’d spend on a sofa and smash it into a mattress tbh. Happily go up to Ā£1,000 for a decent mattress.

Course you can

The dream is to own one of these though

Yeah, they luck comfy af. And look good too, obviously.

Isn’t there some law about to come in limiting the sale of reproductions (i.e. ripoffs), so you’ll only be able to get the real thing (or inflated price second hand ripoffs)?

Yeah
