Absolutely, and even more in someone’s mouth!

I dunno, you’re not backwashing?

Would you be comfortable drinking water that had just briefly touched someone’s bumhole?

Ideally not

But my lips and stuff still touch the bottle and bacteria can grow and multiply from there, no?

It’s like in a mouth, the bacteria are all in harmony ideally, but when taken out and put in another environment things change don’t they?

I don’t have a clue what I’m talking about here scientifically but I think you’d have to be really unlucky to be infected by bacteria on a water bottle that hasn’t been washed for a few days. Just seems so, so minor compared to all the other stuff out there that you could encounter.

Who’s to say the bacteria in your mouth is harmonious?

Oh yeah it’s more just like - grim to think about (for me) As I said upthread. You’d have to leave it a while for it to be a problem but also as meo says it depends on the water source/quality too so could be any number of things.

Bacteria are what make it smelly which would provide further ‘evidence’ I suppose and the idea of that is what makes me not like it, and it’s easy enough to wash.

Well quite, hence bad breath, furry tongue etc etc. But in a healthy mouth (as with the rest of our skin) the bacteria is in harmony and most is good stuff working to protect us from the bad rather than the opposite.

(Not like, cognitively, obvs)

I want to make it very clear I’m aware that as I like it when someone I am attracted to spits in my mouth, I’m on pretty shaky ground as far as asserting things here goes, but in my mind that’s very Different to like, something that has been left uncleaned

I am very surprised that so many people wash their hair every day

I wish I could wash mine less (and I’m sure it would look 100x better than the frizzy, thick mess it is now) but I can’t not get in the shower without washing my hair, I just can’t do it

How long is your hair/how much attention does it need? Mine is long so takes ages to wash and dry, and when it was short-ish I used to straighten it after every wash. It’s so time consuming that there’s no way i could ever bother to wash it every day. I’d wash it less often than every other day if it didn’t look terrible and give me an itchy scalp by day 3

My hair goes quite greasy when I don’t wash it. I’ve trued and tried not to use shampoo on it for a few days to let it get past that stage but if instinct doesn’t kick in first and I end up doing it then I feel ‘unclean’ and end up doing it.

Same. Can’t have freshly washed body and not do my hair.

I fucking love washing my hair.

Left hand: every 2-5 days
Right hand: never

Shoulder length, but it’s really thick. I just blow dry it if I can be arsed, so little attention.
