The best burger is a cheeseburger with fried onions from a barbecue or van at a small community event or non-league football ground.

Been enjoying this style of burger from local caffs lately, absolutely great - up there with omelettes* and fry-ups as my orders of choice

Started having them after my tiny comrade was born, as a burger is easier to eat over a baby’s head if they’re in a sling than a fry-up!

*HTIIR: Omelettes at some point?

Sound advice Mr @anon19035908 salt, pepper and a dash of paprika. Brioche buns though I’m afraid. Doesn’t look much but very tasty indeed. Oh and mexicana cheese melted on top.

Looks bloody good tbf. Fwiw I make a pretty good go at a homemade Big Mac if your kids are into that. Two burgers made like that but pressed flatter, cheese on top of each, then fried onions and gherkins on top with French’s mustard and ketchup.

Sounds awesome…I.did try and press them flat but the buggers expanded a bit during cooking. Glad I didn’t put egg or onion anywhere near though. Proper chuffed. And kids are eating them so that’s a bonus.

I find if you put the meat in a mixing bowl or something and beat it into a kind of giant meatball, then take a chunk off and press it between your hands then just slap the shit out of it as if you’re clapping like a maniac, then they stay flat-ish.

Most modern burgers are too big and too fucking wet.

Massively overrated at 8. Minced food is better elsewhere , bread is better elsewhere, the toppings are better utilised elsewhere. They are satisfying to eat, i guess.
