Didn’t buy the electric shock one.
Got a back brace thing which i only use when its really bad cos its all sweaty and uncomfy

Shite. I was always a tall kid and think I started slouching to try and fit in more/stand out less. I’m in decent shape overall but my core strength is almost non-existent. In my late 30s and really need to start doing something before I get too stiff and old for it to make a difference. Have been talking about yoga for a good two years but I’m quite intimidated by being the new, sweaty, stiff guy who can’t do any of the poses and doesn’t really understand his body…

TV is a chiropractor

how long can you do a plank for?

  • <30 secs
  • <1 min
  • <3 min
  • <5 min
  • >5 min
  • don’t know. don’t care.
  • don’t know. about to find out!
  • don’t know. care, but don’t care enough to actually find out.

Does it work?

Does it work?

(Body is too similar to what you recently posted. F off, discourse.)

Sort of helps in the short term

It’s helped me, definitely. I’d recommend it.

I’ve got weak muscles in my back that sometimes hurts if I stand up too long. Probably should buy some weights to work on that

It’s pretty bad, but better than is used to be before I started running, cycling and swimming more.

It would be significantly better if I started pilates, which I keep on meaning to do.

Playing hockey almost certainly makes it worse.

Always tend to sit in chairs with one leg hanging normally and the other leg tucked under on the chair, so I’m sort of sitting on the ankle.

Never gonna stop.

(Used to have terrible back pain. Started to Pilates. It does wonders.)

Had/have bad posture as diagnosed by a doctor. Recently when I did a yoga course I noticed that my posture really improved. Obviously that’s regressed now I’ve stopped the yoga :woman_shrugging:

I’ve started dangling from the stairs to let gravity do it’s stuff.

Mine has only gotten worse since this picture was taken 3 years ago. Climbing has led to some serious imbalances…

just tried and got 3 mins and 10 seconds

wooo

i’m moving up a bracket

Good effort!

How low were your hips though?

Not great for someone who wore a back brace for years in her youth.

yeah, was probably cheating it a bit

Mine is awful and I’ve only recently started to do something about it

Pretty sure it’s cos I want to hide my baps so I hunch over a bit cos I think that they stick out less?

Yoga and swimming seems to be helping it naturally, and so do our new office chairs. I’m making a conscious effort to stand up tall and make the most of my height

Good thread
