Fleet Foxes? Second album didn’t get anywhere near the press of the first (even though it’s WAY better)

Gaslight Anthem

Gaslight Anthem is more ‘huge second album, ignored third’

I to sky is fucking excellent. Still sounds great today

ahh jeez, that’s a memory I don’t remember. Why on earth did I like his shit?

Gaslight Anthem??

I wouldn’t have said that Sink Or Swim was a huge first album…

thought it got a good bit of coverage, i remember 6music playing various tracks from it constantly. i guess the first one got such a massive amount of attention that anything will look small by comparison

Futureheads.

Sneaker Pimps?

Probably some Britpop nonsense like Ocean Colour Scene.

Googles

Oh, Moseley Shoals was their second album, then

I much prefer Gloss Drop to Mirrored. Both brilliant, but Gloss Drop is full of ideas and amazing sounds.

I know this post is from ages ago, but…never mind.

Again, Liquid Skin is brilliant. Listen to it again.

Criminally ignored! Much more likely to stick on News and Tributes than their debut…

Weird that only two tracks from it are available on Spotify…

Someone mentioned The Music upthread (way back in September 2016!) which came as a surprise to me.

But then I remembered - I may only have paid a lot of attention to their second album because it came packaged with a bonus live disc, which was recorded at a gig that I attended.

Second album’s amazing. The third, though: Not so much.

I really like Yuck’s second. The latest one does nothing for me at all though.

I don’t think they’ve taken off they way people expected them to after the first album but each album has a handful of great songs and they’ve gradually built a solid fanbase.

That’s a fine album, generator will always have a place in my heart

Don’t know why but I thought 59 Sound was their first album.

I was basically going through the Reading 2010 line-up - loads of bands there that fit this.
