a little up date for you all, I have temporally fixed my washing machine it seems to work if the exit pipe is in the sink. I am in the market for a new one if anyone has any recommendations?

Surely, if it works with the outflow running to the sink, the implication is that you have a blockage wherever your outflow was previously connected to. Get some bottle brushes and see if you can unblock that before you spend out on a new machine, if that’s the case.

Yes I thought this as well but the washing machine was making some grindy noises before all this happened and makes a lot of noise anyway so I think its time for a new one. As you say I will have to check the blockage new or old machine.

Yeah my lady has really lost confidence in this machine and doesnt like it being pulled out of the work bank making the kitchen look messy when I am trying to fix it.
