my sister was going through stansted or gatwick or somewhere with my parents; they were on their way to inverness and then skye. as they went through security my sister’s handbag beeped and it suddenly dawned on her that there were bullets, or something, in there. the baggage handler took them out and asked her to explain: basically her partner found them while they were renovating house on the isle of skye; he’d given them to her with instructions to “throw them in the sea” at the first available opportunity, but of course she forgot (this was months ago now). anyway armed police arrived, and it was probably only because she’s a young, white woman that they just shrugged and took what was probably live ammunition away.

Clambook?

On our first holiday abroad my Mum decided it was essential that she took some washing powder in her handbag for any laundry related emergencies. Security didn’t half raise an eyebrow when they looked through her luggage and found a big clear bag of white powder. Thankfully this was all pre-9/11 and everyone just had a good laugh about it. Simpler times…

No, definitely not. Sea food makes me ill just to think about it. Hate insects

BTW everyone should know I am singing this thread title over and over to the tune of

Oh well I’ll leave it there but I meant the real line in the song with the extra syllables.

I’ve been through Canada, US, Mexico and EU securities in the last year with numerous spices, both marked and unmarked in my bags without any eyelids being bashed, except while flirting.
