Can’t imagine anyone is culty about it though, it’s a lot more casual than coffee

I feel like bad coffee is more about what you start with, a lot of bad tea is due to individual failings

not at all true in my experience - i know loads of tea cultists (have dated 2 of them)

That is definitely true but honestly bad coffee is still fine you just add more sugar and milk

I can’t imagine that, never seen anybody order tea or make fancy tea in my entire life, just something you make at home to pass the time

Answer me babe, “yes I would
I’ll put you above me”

oh that’s not really what i mean by cultist. i mean people who bang on and on and on about how much they love tea, every fucking day. how they have 9 cups a day, how can you not drink tea???, tea is life, ordering tea at the pub, buying a special kettle with bluetooth so they can set it from their bed when they wake up in the morning… like fucking hell lads it’s a hot drink, calm the fuck down. and it’s such a signifier of Britishness.

at least coffee serves a purpose (proper caffeine hit)

whatever I had to hand,at the moment it’s a lemon blossom and mint number

Yeah i understand, never really met those people though outside of the odd friendly joke about tea being great, it’s like a conversation filler like people moaning about the weather in that aspect.

I think tea has a kind of relaxing and calming quality that coffee can’t replicate though so I see them as two different drinks for different needs.

Can mess with your anxiety levels if you make yourself a coffee when you really should have had a tea.

if it was standard breakfast tea then yeah I’d add a small drop of milk, think that’s the default for that kind of tea. no sugar though

Yorkshire tea are unaware of what water looks like.

I used to work in a cafe that specialised in teas. Some people would ask if we could buy in PG Tips next time (not even Yorkshire).

I think those people were straining to be unpretentious and IRONICALLY actually being very pretentious.

Hope they got a good pubing.

I for one would frequent a pube cafe, at least once.

you can’t frequent something once you fool.

(sorry I’m at the tail end of a 3 hour zoom call)

That’s very true, I just think it sounds like a 1 time only thing.

Same - maybe between that and grans house

because of english breakfast tea, its a thing that spaniards will serve milk with any tea if they’re making it for a british person. fruit teas, green teas, herbal teas etc. seen some absolute horror brews over the years.
