I don’t know if I could handle all the adoring fans

Spoken word.

ok that’s a good start. I need a laptop and some kind of software too I guess?
Anyway all that aside, I reckon I could make a competent old time album, as long as I’m allowed to bring in a fiddle player.

ah I see, you all WANT to do unfulfilling things instead

Genre not the band obviously

Use your work computer and free software. No fiddle player.

ok then.

When we’re in our glorious Corbyntopia and I can’t do my profession any more because private property has been (rightly) abolished, you better believe I’m going to spend my days churning out utterly forgettable lo-fi chillhop in my state-issued pants.

Well I say none of us could make any of this and I refuse to give it the time of day until I see evidence so there

The trouble with doom is you need at least 2 other people who are content to play one riff slowly for long enough to qualify. Also you need to find a goat/bong/wizard/weed band name combination that isn’t already taken. Tricky stuff.

I would say drone but I just tried to make a drone album and strayed into like 4 other genres and played them incompetently as well. I don’t have the attention span for this I’m afraid.

I’ve made at least 5 7/10+ albums already without leaving my house

sorry Epimer defined competency as 6/10 on some relevant blogs, so you haven’t

that’s actually a pretty high bar tbf

Been over this with @keith already: Grey Wind, Pallor. Doesn’t matter which is the band name and which is the title.

The last Windhand album got 7.9 on Pitchfork. 7.9! Reckon I could scrape a 5.7.

reckon there are a lot of people on here who are better singers and can play instruments better than me so I don’t doubt it can be achieved. Do people have connections or live in cities? is that the question we’re really asking? In that case I’m pretty sure most people on DiS live in cities and know famous people or people who work in arty jobs.

Well I think the real question here is just what the simplest form of music is, when in reality anyone who’s any good at any genre makes it at least a little complex

I quite like Windhand. Not sure why Pitchfork have decided they’re the doom band it’s ok to like though.

Grey Wind/Pallor are both rubbish doom names. They could be playing any kind of metal. As far as I’m concerned you don’t qualify as a doom band unless people know you’re a doom band before hearing a note of your music.

Who doesn’t like blowing raspberries?

I don’t dislike Windhand. And if they can have that I can have Grey Wind.
