If you like this then you should probably try this…

Pick an album you’ve really enjoyed from this year, describe it, await feedback from other DiSers of what else you might like from this year in a similar vein.

So, Momma - Household Name, big anthemic female fronted alt rock tunes. Probably my album of the year. What else from this year should I try in a similar vein?

My favourite track of their’s and (if I’ve posted it right) a lucky brilliant photo of them at The Lexington.

Literally a discovery of mine earlier this afternoon is an artist called Sofie Royer.

I was asked to swap shifts next Wednesday which I did grudgingly which means no Quasi gig for me. I then had a look to see if any good gig were happening earlier in the week and had a listen to Sofie Royer. Her new album is brilliant and bought a ticket for her gig on Monday.

The songs on the album are somewhat varied in style/genres and great for it…reminds me of artists like Weyes Blood. If you like Weyes Blood…check out Sofie Royer.

Really liking a track of hers called Sick Boy but the link didn’t look great and so I’ll post this instead.

If you like Momma, you should try…

I’m pretty obsessed with City of Caterpillar - Mystic Sisters. It’s just so cohesive and relentless without being overwhelming or inaccessible. Furious, tight post-hardcore that explodes in unexpected directions and/or locks into massive atmospheric builds. Anything else out there like it? Already familiar with and love These Arms Are Snakes.

Bumping this, it’s a good thread idea.
