Sure. It was in the Czech Republic. Had a mate who was massively into his wine, something I am somewhat into. He had previously managed wine shops, a vineyard a couple of other things. He fancied opening a bar and as obviously owning a bar sounds like a wicked thing I got on board and funded it.

Was a great little place and people liked it. I really enjoyed the process of getting it off the ground. In the end though, not being hands on was a terrible idea and the woman managing the place stole a lot of money and faked out the balance sheets. She also hid the fact she wasn’t paying some suppliers and utility companies which I only found out when the power got cut off one day. After trying to sort out the whole mess and not getting very far I cut my losses and walked away. A valuable learning experience overall and I don’t regret doing it.

Oh man, a whole rollercoaster. Shame you couldn’t be on site as that would have probably been a great time had by all!

I’ve been to the Depeche Mode bar in Tallinn, where they only play Depeche Mode, and the walls are covered with photos of Essex.

Told my friend about it when we were drunk, and she made me solemnly swear that if either of us ever won the lottery we had to open a Fleetwood Mac bar on the same lines. We didn’t get far on the imaginary menu, but it had Whisky Macs and Lindsey Buckfast.

depeche mode seem to be massive in east Europe for some reason. got a few #slovakianmates who are obsessed with them, and also used to work under a Czech guy who had been to like 20 depeche mode concerts.

I’ve spent more time in Bratislava bus station than any human should have to (old job used to book flights to Bratislava and make you take a coach if you were going anywhere in the region to be cheap)

I went to this ridiculous place in Prague for a laugh. It’s V for Vendetta themed, but they also tried to be fancy with expensive cocktails/obsequious table service and a really bad 30s style jazz band. It was really weird, but a fun thing to do for one drink/to say you’d been.
