I am going on holiday to Scotland in mid-August too! Thinking of getting a train up to Inverness, my hometown, and cycling out to the west coast and down to Mull, before looping back around to Glasgow to get the train back to Manchester

I’m chuckling at the idea of you doing this in one day.

If you’re going to drive up to Skye from Edinburgh or the other way round then I can recommend stopping off for lunch at The Cluanie Inn, you’ll have a lovely drive on your hands and this is the ideal spot to break it up.

Obviously gonna recommend Skye anyway. If you can get a booking do a tour on a rib around rum, eigg and canna - gotta be one of the best days out I’ve ever done. I’ll get the deets of the guys we used if you want them.

Check to see if the oyster shed is open and do that after the talisker distillery (being a tourist is fun!)

Really wanna go here at some point, so a while back I followed their Instagram basically just to remind me to do that.

Absolutely shocking #content though, they just post loads of terrible terrible memes, the kind of stuff an 80s indie uncle would send to a group chat.

Ginesi’s have moved slightly further down Victoria Road, but still worth the visit!

East reprazent.

:white_check_mark: two top calls + Akara (bakery cafe), Rawnchy (raw food/cake cafe), Andina (colombian cafe), Tapa (veggie cafe), Sweet Jane (bakery takeaway), Tibo (bistro cafe), Redmond’s (craft beer pub), all on our just off Duke Street. And Scran on Alexandra Parade.

…or if you don’t! They do great meatless options. :yum:

Tbh, though, if you’re just in town for a couple of days, I’d prolly be looking to Woodlands/Park, and Merchant City for mooching and cafes, unless you were after something specific elsewhere.

:+1: + Spitfire, Picnic (veggie) and iCafe is a nice wee Merchant City cluster to choose from.

A fine East End institution! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I’ve read a lot of terrible opinions on this site over the years but this is far and away the worst.

Next you’ll be telling me you think Errol’s is better…

Ban request.

I mean I’d probably say that Errol’s is better, but Paesano is still a great pizza

I’ve eaten in it twice and thought it was absolutely shite both times.

Their t-shirts are nice though

It’s certainly been somewhat fetishized.

And on that basis, I’ll subscribe to your newsletter.

I heard that it’s expected that 7 million people will visit the Scottish Highlands this summer.
