Having read the thread I still don’t really know what this is but I seem to be instinctively hard-wired to absolutely hate it and all it stands for.

Are you asking if it’s realistic that people would buy ingredients in a supermarket?

It’s cheese postie but with a slightly wider variety of recipes

no, i’m saying this would force you into cooking a new recipe rather than falling back on the stuff you usually have / stuff that takes no effort

I do new stuff quite a bit from recipe books or the weekend paper. Eat me out

quite like going to the supermarket
if i didn’t then i’d probably do this

this is basically no different to huel which most DiSers railed against. just lazy, expensive ways for millennials to have someone sort their lives out for them because they’re too busy or too lazy

Never tried one of these boxes but Sainos have meal plans online, where you can click a button and transfer all the necessary ingredients to your basket.

Pretty cool and I hope to try it for the first time this week.

Might start getting a veg box delivered. It’s like a tenner and you get a big box of randomly selected fruit and veg per week and it seems like it’ll make me eat more and a wider range of vegetables

That’s actually quite a good idea.

And it’s absolutely pointless worrying about food waste if you’re going to get individually packaged food couriered round to your house on a regular basis. If you took your leftovers and threw them at a nun in the street the increase in your sending-the-world-to-hell-in-a-handcart coefficient would be barely noticeable.

True. But it beats broccoli and escalope misery dinners.

On a related note, we haven’t had our food and garden waste bin collected for 2 months now and it’s become infested with maggots. Like, blanket coverage.

Been on the phone to the council every other day for a fortnight trying to get them to collect it. Nothing. They haven’t left one of those stickers on it saying there’s shit in there that shouldn’t be either. Just not coming to pick it up. It’s great fun let me tell you.

don’t bet that isn’t one of them

Take a look for yourself: https://recipes.sainsburys.co.uk/meal-plans?ddl=TWVhbCBwbGFucw**

It is important to remain sceptical of them as they were one of the main lobbyists in trying to force the BBC to close its recipe section on its website.

Heard of this interesting concept recently. Basically it’s a sort of building where you can go in and choose vegetables and just buy the amount you want. Then you carry it back to your house. Think they’re bringing out meat and seafood versions soon too

Bollocks. It’s nowhere near as bad as Huel.
