Important takeaway question

Is your local Chinese actually your local Chinese or another one further away?

  • Yes, it’s the nearest one
  • No. I get my Chinese from another nearby restaurant

Further but by that I mean the one at the other end of our street rather than the one halfway down/up it.

Fair. Not really judging. Just came to mind as I’ve just been out to the chippy and local Thai and our nearest Chinese is shut down - we use one about a mile and a half away instead usually. So kinda… are we partly to blame?

But your Thai is local, right?

  • Of course, why wouldn’t it be?
  • No Zeal, I go further afield for this too.

Just realised that exactly the same applies to Indian. There is no Thai here.

Sad times for Thai cuisine in Devon.

There is one in the town but it’s only open once a month i think and you have to pre-order the day before and pick it up from an industrial estate.

Do you prefer you local Chippy over others?

  • Yes, it’s just down the road and does great portions
  • Sadly not, there’s another one which is the best in the ares.

Damnit. Forgot to make this public.

Now I’m imagining something like a mobile library that tours all the rural villages and you only see once a month
