Chocolate: depends -
In the fridge bars of Dairy Milk, those ‘share packs’ etc, anything that benefits from a bit of crunch
Fuck Off posh chocolate, tubs of Heroes etc (for practical reasons)

Bread: shouldn’t really be frozen but bread is otherwise only good the same day

loaf of bread is fine for maybe 4-5 days in my experience. Maybe they put preservatives in stuff like Hovis etc

We have a breadmaker (lah dee dah!) - bread is never that good the second day. But you’re right, Hovis etc is usually fine.

Also depends on the purpose. For toasting it’s good for a while.
