Well it’s a sport. I’d agree in the epo/doping era (1990-2010), but you need a lot of ability to be a good pro in the current peloton, let alone a top pro.

As someone who worked as a caddy as my uni summer job for 4 years I can absolutely say that golf tends to punish lack of ability rather than forgive it.

Really difficult to be successful at it unless you have tons of ability and dedicate a frankly stupid amount of time to it.

However it is incredibly snooty and does look like an absolute chancer’s sport mainly because of the absurd amount of rich men who go to prestigious courses to play despite being utter dogshite.
