Incredible debut albums

Can’t Buy A Thrill by Steely Dan is up there for me because of how fully formed it feels and how young they were when they did it, sort of perfecting the mainstream rock formula on their first go before going on to do more unique stuff. Imagine Do It Again being the first song on your first album, silly.

Don’t hear John Prine mentioned much on here, but a few years back a friend of mine recommended his debut album and it’s incredible - it’s like he just emerged at age 25 as a fully formed Dylan/ Townes van Zandt style songwriter. Worth checking out :+1:

Love John Prine, so warm and human - just the best, and released brilliant music consistently through his whole career
