In an entirely unjokey way, the IPL being suspended feels like a massive deal, in the same way that the Premier League being suspended because of COVID was a harbinger of things to come. IDK, maybe I’m being paranoid, but this really feels like it’s sliding into full-on war.

My heart absolutely sank when I saw the headline about India strikes the other day… with the other rising conflicts in the world and the lack of appetite worldwide to help de-escalate any of them it feels likely to only go one way.
Worrying stuff. It’s pretty self-evident the international order as a whole is crumbling into nothing, international law certainly is no longer being respected across the board. It was always flawed but at this point it’s simply all bets are off.
There’s something really bleak about how soon after the generation that actually remembers WW2 has died, that the “rules-based global order” that came out of it has crumbled.
Makes the whole “lest we forget” business even more hollow.
