Maybe sheep numbers in Kent have declined since I was a child. I used to see them often. But current Ministry of Agriculture figures still show Kent as having a sizeable sheep population. The counties that currently don’t have many sheep compared to elsewhere in the UK are Hampshire, Dorset, Bucks, and most of East Anglia, plus Yorkshire and Lancashire.
