^From the latest Lidl leaflet, in store from 1st Feb. Might be available online, too. Doesn’t have timer or app shiz, but for seven quid it might be worth a shot, even if just as a tester to see if you like the effect?

Based on the thermostat, I’m a big fan of Hive and am considering their bulbs.

Fuck Alexa and Echo.

Never heard of smart bulbs until now, I’m a bit perplexed tbh.

To summarise, they’re light bulbs that can do simple arithmetic.

I can recommend ‘ting-kam’ for remote controller cheap colour changing led strips, it looks really tacky in the pictures but if you conceal it behind furniture it looks great

This all seems very clever and cool, but if im honest I’m far too lazy for all that.

And the smart bulbs are the goodies.

The cyber bulbs wear leather jackets, chew gum, ride motorcycles and are the baddies.

Clive set it all up in ten minutes. And the result is that we can control things around the house without getting off the sofa, using our voices. (I have to admit that we paid for it with John Lewis vouchers that he got as a bonus at work rather than actually spending money on it.)

Aren’t these things really easy to hack into and then get all your info via your IP or whatever.

Internet of Things is silly imo. Just turn the fucking knob down a bit.

I’ve got a nice laser lighting rig in my flat

FTFY
