I don’t think east and West Sussex have any big rivalries. Most of Sussex is just tories, who don’t give a shit about anyone other than themselves - the unity required to stand alongside others just isn’t in their character

Not technically counties but in Scotland it’s salt and sauce vs salt and vinegar.

Abingdon used to be in Berkshire, until Radiohead fought against all associations with Slowdive, during the Shoegaze Wars

I should know this but what do you call them in Scotland? (E.g. Perthshire etc)? Sorry this is a bit “at it”

Oh those are counties, I just meant that the main rivalry is not along county lines but a general east / west divide between the two main cities characterised by what you put on your chips.
